Lecter vive ahora en Italia, pero Starling no ha podido olvidar sus encuentros con \u00e9l: su fr\u00eda voz sigue resonando en sus sue\u00f1os. Mason Verger tambi\u00e9n recuerda a Lecter: fue su sexta v\u00edctima y, pese a quedar horriblemente desfigurado, logr\u00f3 sobrevivir. Tras heredar una fortuna, Verger decide emplearla para satisfacer sus deseos de venganza.
